Light at the End of the Tunnel

I haven't talked about it too much in the blog but the truth is I went through a nasty downswing in December to the tune of nearly 20 buy ins.  There is no doubt I was running bad but it is also clear that during that time period I had fallen into some bad habits which had developed as a result of frustration and lack of proper review.

A lot of these habits cost me an extra street of betting in pots I lost and often robbed me of value in pots in which I held big hands.  I have plugged most of these leaks, thanks in no small part to my coach, but have also been doing more self-review.  Once I had begun to beat 50 pretty badly in the early stages of re-learning cash, I stopped reviewing my own play and it's pretty amazing how quickly my game regressed.

I know I said I was going to post a graph but I want the sample size to be a little bigger. Hopefully results will continue in an upward fashion and I will be able to post one later this week. I don't simply want to post a graph every time I go on a mini-heater.

On another note, it looks like I'll be heading out to Vegas sometime around mid-February.  I have some loose ends I want to tie up in Dallas before then but it's unclear if I'll get to do that in person.  Alright, back to the grind. Glgl.

Grinding!

I am now a rakeback pro.  This wasn't intentional nor do I hope it is permanent, but for the time being, I am grinding tons of volume at 50NL with some mixed results. So far in 2011 I am averaging about 9k hands a day with a very modest winrate but am looking forward to some massive rakeback transfers on Fridays.

My backer has dangled some incentives for online profits in the month of January so I probably won't be playing much live for the next few weeks but am looking forward to possibly hitting the 2/5 tables at The Borgata once again, probably in early February, assuming my backer is happy with the January online results.

During this grind I have also been getting coaching from a very solid mid and high stakes cash pro. He's a good guy and a very good coach. We've modified my game somewhat and I feel like I am going to crush over the next 50,000 hands.  If I can get the graph a little more vertical and less horizontal I will definitely post. OK, back to the grind. Glgl.
