So I played a fairly big Sunday schedule of MTTs in honor of the 5th Anniversary Sunday Million on Stars. I could have built a house with the bricks I laid that Sunday. I'm not sure how much of it was my play and how much was just run bad over a silly small sample size but, in either case, I couldn't get anything going. Oh well, at least I was freerolling.
I also played the multi-entry mini-FTOPS event today. It was a $33 rush tournament. I don't really think rush is a great tournament format but I have been playing a ton of rush cash lately and felt really comfortable in the tournament. I am actually looking to play a lot more of the rush tournies in the future.
I built up 3 very nice stacks over the first 90 minutes but 2 of them were wiped out in 20 minutes of serious tourney run-bad. Nothing held and flips just had no chance. So, it was down to one entry. I usually don't get excited unless I'm quite deep in tournaments but I felt like I had a really good grasp on how the tournament was playing and really felt I could make a deep run in this thing. I was wrong. Got KK in against 77 26bbs effective and couldn't fade the 7 on the river.
The mini-FTOPS experience wasn't a complete loss, though. I bought in with iron man medals so the min cash was at least profit. Also, I found a format which I think I have a strong edge in which I could see making me some real money in the future.
On a side note, I just read an article about Seidel shipping the NHUPC. This puts him at over 4M on this young year. This guy is unstoppable. I'm thinking the sequel to Rounders, which recently got the greenlight, might not be featuring footage of Chan's has-been ass owning Seidel this time around. Glgl.
